Durand James Dobey, 77, of Fort Wayne IN, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Durand or “Randy” was born in Oak Park Illinois in 1948 to Lawrence & Mary Dobey. He was the oldest of 4 children, graduated from Huntington High School, served in the US Navy stationed in Oahu Hawaii during the Vietnam War and graduated from Purdue Fort Wayne as a Technical Engineer. He got a job building video games with Magnavox and then moved onto a career as a sales representative selling components of all kinds. His passions included unfinished projects around the house, hockey, Indy 500, Beefeater gin martinis and the sunny beaches of Siesta Key. He also enjoyed summers on Lake James and Pokagon State Park.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Lawrence Dobey, Mother, Mary Dobey, Brother, Thomas Dobey, Brother, David Dobey and Sister, Sheri Dobey.

Survivors include his daughter Stephanie (Adam), grandchildren, Henry and Natalie of Denver CO and his niece Jessica (William) of Fort Wayne, IN
