Marcie Polier Swsrtz Janet Garfinkle was the "company wife" as I was a young and inexperienced entrepreneur. Her husband, Phil Garfinkle had joined my company as a salesman representing our services and selling our reports to the motion picture exhibition, and Distribution communities. Janet invited our staff to their home several times hosting parties and promoting camaraderie and teaching me how to be a better leader. She came up with one of the most creative ideas when she asked her husband, Phil why we weren't giving out awards for Films that made the most money the way the record Companies did for records that went gold and platinum. We turned that idea into the ReelAWARDS which ultimately were exhibited in trophy cases next to Oscar's and Emmy's and given to special directors and stars. Janet's work at the holocaust museum was exemplary and she invited us to many tours and introduced us to leadership there. When Janet became ill and unable to take care of herself I was honored that her social worker reached out to me and will forever be moved at being able to have helped her receive good care via donations to the motion, Pictures pioneer fund and through the Good races of the Jewish home. I watched Peter and Anne grow up and will always have a fondness for the family and be grateful to Phil for all of his great years of service to The company that he helped expand with me, Entertainment, Data, Inc.
